This is an update to the review I posted below a couple of weeks ago.Nexera is so incompetent that they only mailed me ONE of the missing parts I requested. I rechecked my request, and I clearly stated that I was missing two of the "Z" drawer parts. They only sent me one.Not that it helped. I have "completed" assembly of the one drawer, and it doesn't even work. The front portion just falls out. I don't know if I'm supposed to put glue in the screw holes or what the deal is.This is by far the WORST PRODUCT I HAVE EVER PURCHASED FROM AMAZON.I am also highly suspicious that the people who said it was easy to assemble are either (a) paid spokespeople or (b) do-it-yourself types with a lot of mechanical skill. (Oh, and I guess they were not still missing parts after TWO shipments from Nexera.) In any case, if somebody actually knows how to get the drawer to stay together, I wish they would tell me.Then again, I've already spent about four hours on this, four hours of my life I will never get back. Worst Amazon purchase decision EVER.Run, do not walk, away from this product!!!! Go to a store and purchase an assembled filing cabinet, or find somebody that ships one assembled.*********************This is way too complicated to assemble--I feel extremely misled by the reviewers who said it was OK. First of all, there are seven different kinds of screws. Really? Why can't you just use one or two kinds of screws? Some of them are really tiny, which means you have to use your tiniest screwdriver, the one that is most likely to get a lousy grip and strip the little piddly screw.Secondly, I'm missing at least two parts, possibly more. I spent 1 hour and 45 minutes on this before realizing I am missing the backs of the drawers. (Believe me, I tried to spread out the parts at the beginning to see if they were all there, but it was not easy.) So I just "contacted the seller" to ask them to ship me the "Z" parts. Since "Z" probably looks like "2" in the email form, I am worried this communication is not going to go smoothly.If/when they send me the missing parts, I'm hoping to finish it in another half-hour. Quality looks average. So three stars. I didn't want to spend a lot of money, so I hope it works out OK. I ordered this from Amazon because I live in the city and don't have a car, but I wish I had gone to Office Depot to buy something and put it in the back of a taxi. I ordered this because the reviewers said assembly was fairly easy, but IT IS NOT. Plus I have the aggravation of missing part of the drawers. Very, very aggravating. This is ok for what I need, but if you're looking for something nice, I don't recommend it. It is made of particle board and I was not surprised to find a small chip off the corner of the top piece ( I colored it in with a Sharpie). The pieces don't fit precisely, so expect to see some minute lines of unpaired particle board at the seams. When you install the bottom piece, make sure the colored side is up or you will have a strip of unpainted particle board showing because the bottom drawer doesn't quite reach. The instructions were missing the part on how to attache the rails to the drawer bottoms (I figured it out). In addition, there were not enough screws (6 when 8 were needed) to attach the rails and unlike all the other pieces, there were no pre-drilled holes.Drawers don't extend all the way so it is difficult to get at files in the back, even though the drawers aren't all that deep. I suppose the unit would tip over if they extended fully. Construction is your average particle board with cam locks. Easy to assemble; everything fit. Nice finish. Very nice appearance. I've owned and used this item for a year.Works mostly as it should except it tips. Also when assembling the the slates that go on top of the drawers are next to impossible to get on. I tried all the tips in the reviews but nothing worked and had to use brute force with a hammer!Hardware is cheap, but to be expected at this price point. Bigger issue is drawer depth. The drawers only pull out about 90% of the way, so if you have a full drawer of files, it's impossible to get to the back few.Junk, utter junk. Take your money and head over to OfficeMax or Office Depot. I wouldn't trust the 5 or 4 star reviews as they are likely paid for. The instructions make Ikea's look like well written, clear manuscripts. Not to mention that they show you to put the drawer rails in backwards. The pre-drilled holes do not line up and in some cases are either too shallow or too deep.Buying decent furniture on Amazon is getting to be a pretty precarious ordeal these days. Not to say Amazon is to blame, but it's getting kind of frustrating. If you read my other reviews, you'll see I'm no slouch with tools. This thing is a pile and you should spend your money on something better constructed.I didn't like the filing cabinet itself. NO letter-sized racks for files; only legal size. The outer edges are sharp particle board and the handles are cheap plastic. Two good features are that the drawers open smoothly and it is on decent casters. The seller was great-don't get me wrong. Cymax offered to let me return it, even though I had already assembled it. However, I am going to sell it on craigslist instead, sparing myself and the company the hassle and expense.Horror! I've put these things together all my life. All joints were flush. All parts fit together and in the pre-drilled holes. Easy to assemble. However, when I put the drawers in, they were uneven and don't slide. It's useless. I can't return it because the box is tiny and how do you take this thing apart? I'm out $100 and 2.5 hours putting it together and I don't have the file cabinet I want. I'd suggest that you go to Office Depot and pay anything NOT to get this product.
