I have been a huge fan of Columbia convertible pants for years and only came across these pants while looking for a replacement for one of my Columbia pants that had a zipper break render them useless.VALUEFirst off, the price on these is a great value for what you get. At normal prices, without any promotions, coupons, etc., these are about 60% of the price of Columbia's version of this type of pants/shorts. I might argue that even if these wear out faster, they're still a great value for the price, though I have not had mine long enough to comment much on their durability.MATERIALThe material on these is very different from the Columbia pants I am comparing these two, in both good and bad ways. PRO: much nicer looking and feeling and comes out of the dryer wrinkle free. CON: Doesn't dry as fast when I get them really wet.Overall, I love these pants. I bought my second pair very shortly after I wore the first pair because I liked them so much and so far (only a couple of months into owning them) I find them to be a GREAT pair of pants and shorts, in one, and I LOVE the convertible aspect of them.
